About Village
Kuruvambalam is a small village in the southern part of Malappuram district.It is located in Pulamanthole grama panchayath.The village is situated 13 kilometres north-west of Perinthalmanna and 21 kilometres south- east of Malappuram.
The Thootha River, a tributary of the Bharathappuzha flows through southern boarder of village.
The area was part of the ancient Chera Empire until the twelfth century.Later, from the 12th century to the 18th century, this region became part of the Valluvanadu kingdom. The ruler of Valluvanad was known as Vellattiri. The region remained under the rule of Vellattiri until the later conquest of Malabar by the Sultan. According to the Treaty of Srirangapatna of 1792, this region along with other parts of Malabar came under British rule. After independence, Malabar district became part of the state of Kerala. During the formation of kerala state, Valluvanadu taluk was divided into two -Perinthalmanna and Ottappalam. This region become the part of Perinthalmanna Taluk.
